HEATHER

Heather Blanton has been nourishing a passion for art since her first memory, she says....

Loving the intricate designs that only nature could produce, Blanton believed that the angels painted butterflies and birds, that if she could do anything in the afterworld it would be painting the colors of the sky in beautiul strokes of incredibley bold colors and patterns during the sunrise and sunset, to paint the irrediescent fish in the sea, and the put the magic in each delicate bloom of the flower. But, alas, Nature has it's fantastical beauty, Art has it's own special desire to speak through images.
Image making has become Heather's obsession. From Fine Art to Food, Corporate and Still-Life, her creativity defies medium or explanation, only a finished piece that is all about the beauty of the final image.

Manipulating Polaroid film during it's development process is the body of work she says she is most proud of. Heather's love of this Instant Magic Film will continue to flourish as long as there is film available.

Since the Polaroid Crisis in 2006, her all ways fluctuating search for new process has endeared painting dancers and abstracts, experimenting with Resin and mica powders, as well as Color Swap in her beloved Canon G10. Currently, she is using her stock of Polaroid film that she wisely has stored in the refridgerator for future projects.
